The Evolution of Armor and Mechanized Cavalry

The Inter-War Period
1919-1941

Between World War I and World War II, great experiments of combining cavalry tactics with modern armor took place at Fort Knox. As automotive developments improved the capabilities of tanks, the future of the horse cavalry came into question. By the start of WWII, machines had further replaced flesh and blood mounts.
