The Evolution of Armor and Mechanized Cavalry

The Cold War
1946-1989

Armor played a significant role throughout the Cold War. Two wars were fought in the larger context of the Cold War. Both the Korean conflict and Vietnam War were part of a larger national strategy to fight the spread of Communism and protect the free world from aggression.
